v-bulletin is better for tables,pictures, it also has otions for friends,albums,social groups, chat

I've been visiting these forums since birdflu/2005, I always wanted
to merge them instead I end up creating new ones...

you could probably also get a subforum on existing forums for special
virology subjects/threads using their moderation.
Some moderators will be useful to delete spams etc.

there are also mailing lists such as yahoogroups.com or "usenet", now groups.google.com,
then facebook, which is quite popular, where you can also have groups.

I have been thinking about a discussion forum, especially since the
listers/readers of virology blog and twiv have now grown
substantially. It probably makes sense to have one forum for both the
blog and podcast. What do you think? Suggestions for the forum
software?

instead of asking qustions directly – let me ask why you don't attach a discussion forum to the site where I can ask and discuss with other users about virology
